Courses at the University of Roehampton (subject to change):

London: History, Culture, & Society

This module provides an opportunity for students to develop a deeper understanding of the history of London and of some of its most celebrated monuments, heritage, and historical sites. The module puts students in touch with London’s architecture, sculpture, painting, and archaeological objects. The course will include visits to London’s museums and heritage sites, such as Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and lesser-known sites off the tourist trail.

Media & Social Change: Class, Race, & Ethnicity

This module focuses on how non-fiction media, such as news, documentary, advertising, lifestyle journalism, and popular factual television, articulate and explore contemporary experiences of profound social change. It focuses especially on the changing landscape of social class, race, and ethnicity. Teaching will be through lectures, seminars, and cultural visits.

Business Organizations in a Global Economy

The module focuses on the factors affecting businesses in advanced economies and (to a lesser extent) developing countries/emerging economies. There will be a focus on issues relating to market and industrial structure, international trade, and technological change. In addition to emphasizing the economic, financial, and technological factors that can impact business organisations, political, social, cultural, legal, and environmental influences will also be considered.
