Internships for Montevideo, Uruguay

USAC internships abroad are a great way to enhance your educational experience. Participating in a structured work or research experience with an international organization, whether in-person or virtually, will help you gain valuable skills and hands-on experience while expanding your professional network and immersing yourself in the workplace culture of Uruguay.

A $985 internship placement fee will be required of all students participating in an in-person USAC internship. This fee helps offset the costs of securing quality internship placements and helps provide a range of professional development activities, including an online internship seminar, career workshops, and panel discussions.

An urban farm supporting sustainable urban development, organic farming, and social integration through community outreach, educational workshops, and school events as a way to promote healthier lifestyles and communities

  • Sample Work Responsibilities
    • Prepare and publicize a calendar of events
    • Organize activities of the farm
    • Participate in sales meetings with agro-ecological producers

Digital Marketing

An NGO providing educational and social support to children and adolescents in high socioeconomic and social vulnerability in an effort to break the cycle of poverty that affects families in the area

  • Format/Terms available: In-Person | Semester
  • Requirements: Four semesters of college-level Spanish, or equivalent
  • Sample Work Responsibilities
    • Analyze the digital presence of the organization
    • Create and present a development plan and implement approved changes
    • Maintain the organization's digital channels and promote its activities and events

English-Language Instruction

    • Teach basic English to non-English-speaking host families
    • Develop lesson plans and activities according the proficiency level of students
    • Assist in organizing and participating in orientation meetings

English-Language Instruction

A university research center that aims to promote an entrepreneurial and innovative culture by developing and strengthening a network linking the university, local businesses, and the financial sector to support innovative entrepreneurial initiatives that add value to society

  • Sample Work Responsibilities
    • Develop language workshops (e.g. pitch and accent, Business English, etc.) to improve the communication capacity of staff and entrepreneurs
    • Provide mentoring and support
    • Collaborate with staff in support of social enterprises associated with the center
    • Participate in the organization of meetups with entrepreneurs

    • Assist in the standardization of school recipes and development of the school menu
    • Support in child nutritional consultation
    • Evaluation and interpretation of anthropometric data and food consumption
    • Assistant in the design and development of children's workshops oriented to healthy eating

Natural Resources and Environmental Studies

NGO and Social Services

An Uruguayan feminist collective, founded in 1985, and one of the main exponents of the Uruguayan feminist movement. Their work is focused on feminist political communication and incorporates the feminist perspective on issues of public concern such as abortion, sexual and reproductive rights, the political participation of women, and the ethics of care
