If you have questions about the academics or courses available on this program, locate the Program Advisor to email them your questions directly.

Studying abroad can be a more meaningful and invigorating learning experience than at home—both inside and outside of the classroom. You may be more curious and alert than you usually are so use this heightened energy to enhance your studies as well as your cultural and geographical explorations. You may also encounter different teaching styles and course processes; be prepared to adapt and to learn.

Academics

USAC’s partnership with The Hague University of Applied Science’s Faculty of Management and Organization (THUAS) provides you with an array of academic offerings taught in English. You may choose from courses offered in the European Studies programme, including the following disciplines: Business Management; Cultural and Social Studies; Law, Politics, and Administration; and Modern Foreign Languages. A full credit load for a semester at THUAS is typically 24-30 ECTS (12-15 U.S. credits). The maximum course load students may take is 40 ECTS (20 U.S. credits). Courses are subject to availability and approval of prerequisites which are determined by the host university.

All USAC students are required to take an Introduction to Dutch Culture and Society course, worth 2 ECTS (1 U.S. credit). This course provides a strong foundation for the study abroad experience and gives students the opportunity to engage in hands-on, student-led, project-based learning.
