Activities for Nishinomiya (Osaka/Kobe), Japan
Outside of classes, there are hundreds of student groups at Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) which welcome participation by study abroad students, so there are countless opportunities to form friendships and pursue a variety of interests. A coffee hour is held three times a semester to meet with other students and faculty to compare and discuss aspects of Japanese culture. International Student Week is held each semester, giving international students the chance to share aspects of their home culture with local and other international students.
Orientation
Your first week in Nishinomiya includes a Japanese Language Placement test and an extensive orientation regarding life on campus.
Nihongo Partners
Acting as language partners for the students participating in the program, KGU student volunteers assist students in practicing Japanese and help them to settle into their new environment in their first semester. If a student wishes to have a Nihongo Partner assigned to them, they must apply beforehand and this decision cannot be changed after arriving in Japan.
