USAC strongly encourages everyone to participate on the tour; however, it is optional and has an additional fee. Destinations may change at the discretion of the Resident Director.
The following are possible destinations, view term calendars for specifics. Due to continually evolving COVID-19 regulations some tours and field studies may or may not be available during the term you choose to study abroad.
The student group will be accompanied by the Resident Director on the tour and also for the transportation by TGV train between Pau and Paris. The tour takes place at mid-semester and will maximize the understanding of French and Francophone culture and civilization.
The stay in Paris will be very active and will include visits to great Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Opera House, Sainte-Chapelle, Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Musée de Montmartre. An Opera or theatre outing is included as well as customized guided visits of the Paris city hall and a typical Parisian quarter and a meal at a restaurant. While in Paris, you will stay in a centrally-located hotel in double or triple rooms and have daily breakfast. Bring walking shoes!
This trip to one of the best known and most beautiful French cities includes a guided tour of the Old Quarter with its splendid eighteenth-century facades, riverfront, Grand Theatre, gothic cathedral Saint André as well as a visit to the Musée d'Aquitaine, where students will learn about the history of the city.
Toulouse is one of the largest cities in France and known for its architecture of rose brick buildings, the Romanesque Basilique of St. Sernin, and the Augustinian Monastery. Students will have a tour of the city and visit the museum Saint Raymond, the archeological museum of Toulouse.
