Field Trips for The Hague, Netherlands
USAC students can participate in activities, events, and field trips offered by the host university. These may be organized by student organizations and clubs, the European Studies program, or even the local European Union Commission Office. Opportunities vary and may include social gatherings, galas, special lectures, themed weekends, festivals, day excursions, and debates held by politicians, royalty, or celebrities. Students will need to be proactive in seeking out the opportunities that best meet their interests and preferences.
The European Studies program also strives to bring course content to life by using The Hague as an extension of the classroom. For example, in the mandatory Introduction to Dutch Culture and Society course, students may have additional opportunities to attend lectures given by prominent Dutch academics and practitioners and participate in a series of excursions, site visits, and field trips. Other courses within the European Studies program may offer similar experiences outside the classroom, depending on the subject area.
