On-Site Staff for Verona, Italy

Specialty programs have an on-site Resident Director (RD) who provides comprehensive support to students throughout their study abroad experience. The RD and program staff meet the group flight at the airport, provide an on-site orientation, take you to your program housing, and organize interesting field studies and optional tours.

Meet the Resident Director

Alessio Sartore, Ph.D., is USAC Verona Resident Director since 2024. He has taught courses in business communication, intercultural communication, and marketing-related courses to Italian undergraduate and graduate students, as well as at many U.S. study abroad programs in Italy, since 2017.

Alessio earned his Ph.D. in economics, management, and communications for creativity. He’s received two master’s degrees in journalism and marketing, and speaks Italian, English, French, and German.

Program Assistant

Program Assistant, Monica D’Agostin, received her bachelor’s degree in languages and cultures for tourism and international commerce and holds a master’s degree in languages for international commercial relations, both from the University of Verona.

She studied abroad twice — in Zaragoza, Spain and in Wilmington, North Carolina (at UNC Wilmington). She speaks Italian, English, Spanish, and French.
