Khon Kaen University (KKU), established in 1964, is one of the premiere educational centers in Southeast Asia. KKU boasts 19 faculties, five colleges, 335 academic programs, and more than 38,000 students.

It is number one in the Northeastern area of Thailand – the largest and most populous region of the country (home to 20 provinces and 25 million inhabitants). Nationally, the university is typically ranked in the top five. The main campus is located approximately 1.5 miles from the city center on a large, safe, and lush green site. Acclaimed as a research university, KKU has world-class research projects in healthcare and tropical medicine, and plays a vital role in the physical, intellectual, and mental health of communities.

For the semester program, you will enroll at the International College of Khon Kaen University (KKUIC). Established in 2008, KKUIC is a semi-autonomous college of KKU that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in English only. Their courses follow best-in-class Western curriculums using both international and regional themes.

Delivered by highly qualified professors/lecturers from various countries, the International College promotes interdisciplinary higher education, has more than 1,500 students and is ranked second in Thailand. The College is committed to producing quality graduates equipped with the knowledge and professional skills to succeed in business, arts, and social sciences.

The learning environment is modern, friendly, and sustainable. Using the latest technology and generationally relevant educational methods, their courses incorporate academic and real-life applications, with a forward-looking global perspective.

The summer program is centered around health-based internships and research assistantships so are overseen by KKU’s Faculty of Medicine/Public Health/Nursing. All three faculties have been around for 50+ years and are dedicated to producing graduates who are ready to meet the needs of the community, society, nation, and humanity.
