Khon Kaen City is located in the heart of Thailand's Northeast region. It is a charming and dynamic local city known for its hospitality. Largely undiscovered by the wave of tourism that has swept through other parts of the country, Khon Kaen offers students a genuine glimpse into the true essence of Thai culture and daily life. Additionally, the city’s relative seclusion from mainstream tourism means a lower cost of living, enabling students to have a rich cultural experience without the price tag of more tourist-centric destinations.

It is only an hour’s flight from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. The local transportation system makes it easy to visit other parts of Thailand as well as neighboring countries, such as Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Historically, Khon Kaen is quite a new town, established a little over two centuries ago. However, prehistorically, this town on the plateau has been home to various cultures as well as other fascinating creatures unknown to the modern world (dinosaurs!). The ancient cultures, traditions, and historical sites in this area have all contributed to shaping the local people and culture.
