Madrid is one of the liveliest capitals in Europe and the perfect destination for students interested in studying art history, Spanish language, and culture. With bustling pedestrian areas, busy cafés, vibrant nightlife, and diverse neighborhoods, Madrid is the perfect place to practice your Spanish and experience a socially engaging metropolis.

Madrid has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets while maintaining modernity. You’ll find endless entertainment here, including Flamenco music and dance, cultural and sporting events, and delicious cuisine from all around the world. It was also home to famous artists including El Greco, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dalí. Madrid boasts some of the finest art museums in the world.

Enjoy fantastic beaches and lots of sunshine, explore the city using public transportation, or take advantage of Madrid’s central location and head to other Spanish cities like Córdoba, Sevilla, Barcelona, or Valencia, or to neighboring countries like France and Portugal.

You can study for one or two summer sessions, a semester, or year. Choose from courses in intensive Spanish language, art, and Spanish/European studies. The intensive language approach allows you to complete up to two years of university foreign language coursework in one semester. In addition, your classroom studies will be combined with cultural immersion activities like visits to world-renowned art museums, cultural and sporting events, and day trips to nearby cities to provide the best study abroad experience possible.
