On-Site Staff for Lisbon, Portugal

The Global Education Office (GEO) is headed by the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa (UCP) Faculty of Human Science’s Director of International Affairs, Professor Michael Baum (Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto).

Dr. Baum is a native to the U.S., but has lived in Portugal for more than 20 years. He is a political scientist who brings with him decades of experience leading, designing, and directing international programs. He is also deeply experienced in working with stakeholders from various departments and schools in the North American context, which makes him and the GEO an ideal partner for understanding the specific needs of USAC and our students.
