USAC’s partnership with Kookmin University provides you with a wide array of courses taught in English. You are required to enroll in the equivalency of at least 12 U.S. credits per semester. A typical course load at Kookmin is 12-15 credits per semester. Areas of study believed to be of most interest to USAC students are included below as a sample of what the university offers. Courses are subject to availability and approval of prerequisites which are determined by Kookmin University. Kookmin University has ABET accreditation.

*Intensive Korean Language Program

The intensive Korean language program at Kookmin University has a low intermediate and intermediate track for students who have already completed their first year of Korean language studies. This is a 15-credit fixed program. You will take a language placement exam onsite to determine which track you'll take. If you place too low on the placement exam, you will need to take regular undergraduate courses as identified above.

  • Semester programs only:
    • Minimum class standing: Sophomore
    • Open to degree-seeking students attending a 4-year institution at the time of application

Korea University

  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 (all terms)
  • Semester programs only:
    • Minimum class standing: Applicants must have sophomore standing or higher at time of application, and
      transfer students must have completed at least one semester at their current institution.

Yonsei University

  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 (all terms)
  • Semester programs only:
    • Applicants must be degree-seeking at a 4-year institution and have sophomore standing at time of application. In addition to above, transfer students must have one semester completed at their current institution.
