Internships for Seoul, Korea
Korea University
Students who are enrolled in the summer program at Korea University have the opportunity to apply for an unpaid internship. While students do not earn academic credit for the internship, you will earn a certificate of completion, resume credentials, and recommendations for your career. Placements are available in large corporations’ departments related to:
- Marketing
- Sales
- Advertising
- Public relations
- Research and Operations
Eligibility requirements are slightly higher than that for classes. Students must have a minimum 2.7 GPA and sophomore class standing. The internship is in addition to taking at least one other course and students will need to submit additional documents with their summer application. KU does not provide accommodation during the internship period and placements are not guaranteed as final decisions are made by the individual companies.
Internships occur the month before classes start which means the internship application deadline is earlier than the regular application deadline. Interested students should apply to USAC as soon as possible and connect with their USAC Program Advisor.
Yonsei University
Students enrolled in the summer program at Yonsei University are eligible to apply for a 2-credit internship (approximately 14 hours a week) on top of their regular academic course(s). Interested students will need to complete a separate internship application. Placements are not guaranteed as final decisions are made by the individual companies. The internship begins prior to the start of classes so selected students should be prepared to arrive early.
Students can choose from a variety of corporate and research opportunities. The Corporate Internship Program offers you direct exposure to global corporate settings in the heart of Seoul, taking advantage of Yonsei University's vast alumni networks, and strong ties with business and educational partners. The Research Internship Program offers selected students the opportunity to participate in research projects or work as an intern in research centers or organizations at Yonsei University. Research center placements are limited to specific majors, usually within the STEM field. Regardless of the internship program, some placements require an advanced level of Korean language as well as relevant academic/professional experience.
See Yonsei’s internship page for further details and placement options.
