Internships for Viterbo, Italy

USAC internships abroad are a great way to enhance your educational experience. Participating in a structured work or research experience with an international organization will help you gain valuable skills and hands-on experience while expanding your professional network and immersing yourself in the workplace culture of Italy.

A $985 internship placement fee will be required of all students participating in an in-person USAC internship. This fee helps offset the costs of securing quality internship placements and helps provide a range of professional development activities, including an online internship seminar, career workshops, and panel discussions.

Arts and Culture

An art studio of a multifaceted Italian artist whose works are present in important Italian and foreign collections, as well as several personal exhibitions, collective art exhibitions, catalogs and publications.

• Requirements: Studio art majors preferred
• Sample work responsibilities:
  
  • Assist the artist in his studio
  • Participate in the various processes of creating a work of art from initial design to production of the final piece
  • Develop an understanding of the world of contemporary art

Arts and Culture

An independent comic, pixel art, and illustration studio that has produced comics for publishers in Italy, France, and the United States.

• Requirements: Studio art or graphic design majors preferred
• Sample work responsibilities:
  
  • Assist the artist with drawing, coloring, or illustrating
  • Gain un understanding of the professional world of comics.
  • Learn how to create an independent comic.

English-Language Instruction

Local schools throughout Viterbo from the elementary to university level.

• Sample work responsibilities:
  
  • Assist English teachers in their classes
  • Prepare activities and lesson plans appropriate to the age and proficiency of students (vocabulary focus in the lower levels, grammar focus in the middle levels, conversational and cultural focus in the highest levels)

Journalism and Communications

A local online magazine focused on news, art and culture, events, shows and exhibitions, tours, sports, and daily life in the province of Tuscia and the city of Viterbo.

NGO and Social Services

A local non-profit community association founded in 2001 with the aim of promoting artistic, cultural, and social initiatives in the local community, including educational development programs.

• Requirements: Basic Italian proficiency preferred
• Sample work responsibilities:
  
  • Assist teachers with homework support for children and young adults, particularly in English-language instruction and music
  • Participate in the daily activities of association, interacting with children, volunteers, and other staff members and gaining experience in a community-based educational and social environment
  • Develop an understanding of social work and community-based support in Italy, with a particular focus on the local context and needs of the Viterbo community.
