Deakin University offers several field trips during the January Session, which are organized by the university. They may include the following: the Immigration Museum, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Shrine of Remembrance and other places of historical and cultural significance, alongside exploring the laneways in Melbourne or the beaches and bush in Geelong and Warrnambool.

Founded in 1681, the National Gallery of Victoria is home to over 70,000 works that span thousands of years. The oldest and most visited gallery in Australia also hosts a wide range of international and local artists, exhibitions, programs, and events.
The Shrine of Remembrance is the National War Memorial of Victoria, a monument dedicated to all those who have served in the armed conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Australia has participated.
