Studying abroad can be a more meaningful and invigorating learning experience than at home—both inside and outside of the classroom. You may be more curious and alert than you usually are so use this heightened energy to enhance your studies as well as your cultural and geographical explorations. You may also encounter different teaching styles and course processes; be prepared to adapt and to learn.
Academics
USAC's partnership with Griffith University provides you with a wide array of academic options including an elective community internship course and programs such as BusinessPLUS and Griffith Honours College. You are required to enroll in the equivalency 12-20 U.S. credits per semester, though most students enroll in 12-16 U.S. credits. You will enroll in regular Griffith University classes alongside your Australian peers. Courses are subject to availability and approval of prerequisites, which are determined by Griffith University. Griffith University is AACSB and ABET accredited.

Community Internship Course
Griffith University's Community Internship course fosters a culture of volunteerism and socially inclusive practice while providing personal and professional development for students. Students in the community internship volunteer for a minimum of 50+ hours and concurrently complete an elective course pertaining to their volunteer placement. You may choose from over 80 not-for-profit organizations and 400+ internship opportunities. Participating in the community internship is an ideal way to gain real world experience and integrate with the local community. Past internships have included the fields of social media management; youth program services; animation/illustration; conference coordination; marketing; finance; garden projects; interior design; and risk management, among others.
BusinessPLUS
Students who enroll in at least two business courses at Griffith can take advantage of BusinessPLUS: Griffith Business School’s free, co-curricular professional development program. Receive an online workbook to guide you through the program and keep a record of all the activities you participate in so you can share with future employers. Participating in the program gives you access to career management workshops, industry mentoring programs, professional development events and seminars, and a wide range of enriching activities such as leadership programs, global experiences, networking activities, and competitions.
