Where did you study abroad?
After my undergraduate degree, I traveled abroad in Europe for three months. I visited thirteen countries and studied organic farming and Italian cuisine during my travels. My first experience living abroad for an extended period of time was in 2020-2022 when I lived in New Zealand. While in New Zealand, I enrolled in Te Reo Māori and painting courses.
What is your favorite memory from your time abroad?
Hiking the Tongariro Northern Circuit in New Zealand. It was 45 km through New Zealand’s oldest national park and world heritage area.
There are three active volcanoes in the park, one of which is known by many as "Mount Doom" from The Lord of the Rings.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to and why?
New Zealand!
It has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes that I’ve ever seen, and this was also where I met my husband.
If you could go on any USAC program, what would it be and why?
It would definitely be our Melbourne, Australia program. There are so many interesting courses that are offered, and I’ve always wanted to visit and explore Australia.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love reading, going for long hikes, or finding new places around my local neighborhood and out in nature to enjoy.
What’s on your bucket list?
To walk one of the Camino de Santiago routes.
What is a favorite food that you have tried while abroad?
Belgian fries dipped in a mayo sauce called 'Andalouse'.
