Living Accommodations for Stirling, Scotland
- For Summer students, on-campus housing is included in your USAC program fee.
- For Semester/Yearlong students, USAC provides housing information, and you must apply and pay for housing separately. Both on-campus and off-campus options are available.
Summer: On-Campus Residence Halls
Students attending the International Summer School are placed in one or two residence halls on campus, usually very close together. Housing is included in the program fee, and there is no separate application. Summer residence halls include private bedrooms within shared flats (apartments), with private bathrooms. Flats are fully furnished and are usually shared between five to ten students with their own cooking facilities. Most of the on-campus residence halls are located on the north shore of the campus loch, within walking distance of classrooms and other campus buildings.
Semester and Yearlong: On- or Off-Campus Residence Halls
The university has several on-campus residence halls. Visiting students can typically indicate their preferences among two or three residence hall locations, which vary each year. Most residence halls include private bedrooms within shared flats (apartments). Flats are fully furnished and are usually shared between five to ten students with their own cooking facilities. Private and shared bathrooms are available. Most of the on-campus student residences are located on the north shore of the campus loch, which is a wildlife reserve teeming with ducks and swans.
Students may also be placed in the off-campus Union Street Development, located near Stirling city center. Union Street Development offers four or six person flats (apartments). Each flat includes a fully furnished shared kitchen/living area. Rooms are single occupancy, and the bathroom and showers are shared. There is a bus stop within walking distance of the residence hall, offering regular bus service to campus for class meetings and student activities in approximately 10 minutes or less.
