Field Trips and Tours for Maastricht, Netherlands

Most courses offered during the summer term and many offered during the semester will include field trips, excursions, and seminars on location to relevant sites within and around Maastricht. These are designed to complement your classroom instruction, while making the most of your time in the Netherlands. More details will be available once you have selected your courses.

You can also participate in additional field trips organized by the host university, most of which are offered during the fall and spring semesters.

Semester terms only

This 5-day trip to Berlin, Germany takes place during orientation and provides a fascinating introduction to Europe’s past and present. During the study trip, students will explore the city on a guided walking tour, while also visiting discipline-specific sites of interest, a former concentration camp, and the German Bundestag, home to the country’s national parliament.

During this weekend trip to Paris, France, students will discover the grand boulevards and iconic architecture of the City of Light, while experiencing its rich history, artistic beauty, and cuisine. There is much to discover in this enchanting European capital, a major center of science, commerce, finance, and the arts and home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

All terms

Students will explore various historical and cultural highlights of Maastricht and the Netherlands. Semester students will have the opportunity to create their very own masterpiece at the Delft Blue Museum. Summer students will visit Zaanse Schans, a quaint traditional village with historic windmills, clog-making demonstrations, and cheese tasting.
