Where did you study abroad?
During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Shanghai, China. It was truly a life-changing experience that shaped my perspective both personally and academically, and it also expanded my understanding of international business.
Shanghai is an incredible metropolitan city where modern skyscrapers architecture is mixed alongside traditional buildings, creating a unique blend of history and innovation. My favorite part of the city where its serene gardens that offer a sense of tranquility amidst a chaotic and fast paced environment, making it a perfect balance of both worlds.
What is your favorite memory from your time abroad?
Living in Shanghai itself was an unforgettable experience, and every day was a great experience where I discovered something new. That being said, my favorite memories are the adventures and trips my friend and I took.
Traveling to five different provinces across China, allowed me to witness the countries diversity, and without a doubt those trips where the highlight of my study abroad experience.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to and why?
Having the opportunity to swim in Semuc Champey was a true bucket-list moment. Swimming in a crystal-clear turquoise pool, surrounded by lush mountain, was breathtaking scenery that a picture alone simply cannot do justice.
If you could go on any USAC program, what would it be and why?
I would love the opportunity to study at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Seeing the campus in television shows and online has made feel like I would fit right in. Besides the beautiful campus, I would enjoy immersing myself in Korean culture and experience a modern, global city such as Seoul.
What do you like to do outside of work?
As a language enthusiast, I love learning new languages and the cultures behind them. Cooking and taekwondo are some of my passions as well, and you might also be able to find me in the mountains with my dirt bike from time to time. Above all, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places—especially if it involves food.
What’s on your bucket list?
My goal is to visit all the eight wonders of the world, including the ancient wonders, the new seven wonders, and the natural wonder of the world. Having already crossed one of my bucket lists, I’m even more motivated to experience the remaining wonders firsthand.
What is a favorite food that you have tried while abroad?
I discovered several dishes that quickly became favorites while I was abroad. Peking duck was one of my biggest surprises, and I also found that I love kimbap as well. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Chinese lamb skewers, and bottled tea, cheap and delicious.
