The Bengaluru program has a Resident Director (RD) who oversees the USAC office abroad and is responsible for the overall operations of the program, including securing appropriate student housing, hiring outstanding faculty, organizing exciting field trips, and overseeing your general well-being.
Meet the Resident Director
Abhishek (“AB”) Bhagwat is the Resident Director for the Bengaluru program. For more than 5 years, AB worked as an assistant RD for the IFSA program in Pune, India, assisting more than 500 students during that time. He also has experience as an internship coordinator and Indian student advisor for the Alliance for Global Education in Pune, where he collaborated with more than 50 organizations and companies in the region. AB arranged and oversaw student internships and provided student support. He holds a BA from Sikkim Manipal University. AB is also the founder of a marketing tech company that creates 3D virtual tours. In his free time, he is a runner and cyclist, having participated in half marathons and Ironman competitions. He lives in Pune with his wife and is relocating to Bengaluru.
Program Assistant
Program Assistant, Seema Shaji, also assists USAC students at Christ University while in Bengaluru. The on-site staff will provide the mandatory orientation, help you with your cultural, social and educational adjustment, assist with your class registration and housing, organize local field trips, and oversee your general well-being.
