Why study in Bengaluru (Bangalore)?

Students exploring the historic sites in Bengaluru, India.Students riding an elephant in Bengaluru, India.

Bengaluru is the third largest city in India and seamlessly blends ancient history with modern amenities. Enjoy one of India’s most modern cities complete with malls, bargain shopping centers, espresso shops, nightclubs, and multi-cuisine restaurants, or step back in time at the temples, mosques, fort ruins, and Bengaluru Palace. Enjoy both vibes at the KR Market, a bustling market located inside a historical wooden palace! Bengaluru has a pleasant sub-tropical climate (55°-80°F), with March-May being the warmest season and June-September being the rainy season, which leaves the air clean and fresh.

This program provides an incredible opportunity to take academic coursework in Indian culture, sociology, and global issues and gain personal exposure to the social issues of rural Indian life. You can study for a six-week summer session, semester, or year, and regardless of which one you choose, you will study at one of the most prestigious and beautiful campuses in India.

USAC students are integrated into the college atmosphere and have many opportunities to experience both campus life and Indian culture. You can volunteer in the local community, meet local students by being paired with “buddies”, participate in college sports or clubs, and join excursions to local towns and historical temples. Additionally, you can participate in USAC’s optional courses and tours to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and have the best study abroad experience possible.
