USAC University of Nevada, Reno Scholarships
Criteria:
- Award amount: $1,000-1,500
- USAC Programs: All programs
- Eligibile students:
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Degree-seeking University of Nevada, Reno students who graduated from a Carson City, Douglas, or Washoe County high school
- Are first-generation and/or demonstrate high financial need (EFC under $8,000)
- Have a completed MyNevada General Scholarship Application in MyNevada
- Terms: Semester, Yearlong
This scholarship is funded by the Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation.
Criteria:
- Award amount: $750
- USAC Programs: Spain
- Eligibile students:
- Minimum GPA: 2.75
- Degree-seeking University of Nevada, Reno students who are Nevada residents
- Terms: Semester, Yearlong
This scholarship was created in memory of Richard John "R.J." Simcoe. R.J. was a student at the University of Nevada, Reno who studied in San Sebastián. Eligible students must also have completed their MyNevada General Scholarship Application in MyNevada.

- USAC Programs: Any USAC program where English is not the primary spoken language
- Eligible students:
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Have a completed MyNevada General Scholarship Application in MyNevada
- Terms: Semester, Yearlong
UNR President and faculty emeritus Dr. Marc Johnson and his wife Dr. Karen Penner have established this scholarship for UNR students to explore the world.
Criteria:
- Award amount: $10,000
- USAC Programs: Any USAC program that offers business courses - Torino and Verona, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; and Montevideo, Uruguay
- Eligibile students:
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Degree-seeking University of Nevada, Reno students who are declared College of Business major
- Have a completed MyNevada General Scholarship Application in MyNevada
- Terms: Semester, Yearlong
The Thomas Tusher USAC Scholarship is generously funded by and established in the name of the retired Chief Operating Officer of Levi Strauss Co., Thomas Tusher.
Criteria:
- Award amount: $2,000
- USAC Programs: All
- Eligible students:
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Declared Journalism major or minor
- Must take at least one course in a journalism-related topic
- Terms: Semester, Summer
This scholarship was developed in memory of University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism professor and USAC Brazil and Spain Visiting Professor, Michael Todd Felts, Ph.D. It is available to UNR Reynolds School of Journalism majors and minors attending any USAC program with a 2.5 GPA. This scholarship will be awarded to up to five UNR students attending any USAC program with a 2.5 GPA starting Fall 2025.
