Summer Internships and Research Eligibility and Fees

Eligibility

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Junior standing at time of internship
  • Foreign language proficiency
    • Not required for all placements, see program details for more information
  • Relevant academic experience
  • Enrollment in a USAC study abroad program
  • Vaccination may be required depending on the placement site

Fees

Students participating in a summer Specialty program internship as an optional component of a regular study abroad program, will pay the Summer Session I and II program fee plus a $985 nonrefundable internship placement fee.* This fee helps offset the costs of securing quality internship and research placements and supports a range of professional development activities.

*Thematic summer internship and research programs do not carry supplemental placement fee since the internship or research placement is an integral, required component of these programs.
