New Zealand Study Abroad Programs

Two surfers walking along the beach in Auckland, New Zealand.

Conveniently close to Asia, Australia, and the South Pacific, New Zealand itself is truly spectacular: Renowned for its natural resources and breathtaking scenery, the country is also regarded by travelers as particularly safe and welcoming.

Being located in the Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand’s seasons are the reverse of those in the United States. New Zealand’s weather fluctuates; there can be sunshine and rain in the same day. In the summer (Jan-Feb), temperatures range from warm to hot (comfortable for outdoor swimming). Autumn (Mar-May) is typically mild and settled; while winter (Jun-Aug) and spring (Sept–Dec) are cooler and can be somewhat wet and windy.
