Khon Kaen, located in northeastern Thailand, offers an authentic local experience away from the country's major tourist centers. As a regional hub for education, healthcare, and technology, it plays a significant role in Thailand’s economic and social development. Although the modern city was established just over 200 years ago, the surrounding region has been home to ancient cultures and traditions for thousands of years. Today, Khon Kaen blends its rich cultural heritage with a growing reputation for innovation and research.

USAC's host institution, Khon Kaen University (KKU), is one of Thailand's leading research universities and a major center for education, healthcare, and innovation in northeastern Thailand. USAC has established partnerships with KKU's faculties of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing.
