USAC Incident Response
USAC staff around the world are available 24/7 to respond to any incident, from individual student health and safety issues to program-wide events.
- Students receive local emergency contact information during on-site orientation, including the local equivalent of 911.
- Students receive a Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) insurance card with 24/7 contact for assistance services or can access via the CISI App.
USAC’s Central Office Health & Safety Team in the U.S. is available for assistance 24/7 for emergencies.
In the U.S. our main toll-free number for use during office hours is 1-866-404-USAC (1-866-404-8722) or 775-784-6569. If calling after regular business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time), you will be directed to the emergency contact.
Our on-site staff are in regular communication with the USAC Health and Safety Team. In the event of significant issues impacting our students, the USAC Health and Safety Team will notify home institutions and parents.
Please note: The USAC Health and Safety Team is the primary contact for U.S. university partners and parents.
Students should check their USAC Gateway account to ensure that their emergency contact information for their family back home is accurate and up-to-date.
USAC’s Crisis Management System
During program-wide incidents in which we track individual students, we may launch our on-line Crisis Management portal. This enables our partner institutions to check the status of their students and to enter information regarding their students. Working together in partnership with our U.S. universities greatly advances rapid emergency response to meet the communication needs of all involved.
