Studying abroad can be a more meaningful and invigorating learning experience than at home—both inside and outside of the classroom. You may be more curious and alert than you usually are so use this heightened energy to enhance your studies as well as your cultural and geographical explorations. You may also encounter different teaching styles and course processes; be prepared to adapt and to learn.

Internship Details

You have to take a course in the first summer session in order to do an internship in the second summer session. You cannot do the internship by itself.

The University of Stirling's Careers Team will work with students individually on internship opportunities that match their interests. Past internships placements have been at the following organizations:

  • Basketball Scotland
  • Creative Stirling
  • Scottish Children's Reporter Administration
  • Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders' Museum
  • Forth Valley Disability Sport
  • The Conservation Colunteers
  • Marketing at the University of Stirling Management School

Internship applicants are required to submit an internship application form and resume. Students should be as detailed as possible to give a well-rounded sense of the individual’s skills, interests, and expectations. There is not an interview process and placements are found based on all information provided at the application stage. On successful placement of the student, the Careers Team would be in touch to share the full job description and employer information.

Internships applications are accepted on a rolling basis and intake is capped at 10 students, so we recommend students apply as soon as possible. Placement is not guarenteed.
