The Accra program has a Resident Director (RD) who is responsible for the overall operations of the program abroad, including securing appropriate student housing, helping with registration at the host university, organizing exciting field trips and optional tours, and overseeing your general well-being.
Abigail M Opong Tetteh, PhD, is an International Education Specialist with over 18 years’ experience in the Higher Education sector. She earned a PhD from University of Education, Winneba, Ghana and a Master’s degree from the University of Twente in The Netherlands. Abigail’s research focuses on instructional technology in distance education, design of eLearning technologies for training and development, employee performance in job situations and educational technologies in teaching. She also has a strong interest in information communication technologies (ICTs) for development (ICT4D), ICTs in Education, Women in ICTs and ICT in local government. Abigail is passionate about the young people in society and is a youth patron in her church.
Abigail, assisted by Program Assistant Claudia Tawiah-Amoako, will meet the group flight at the airport and provide the mandatory on-site orientation as well as additional support and resources while you are on the program.
The USAC staff is there to assist you. They have information about academics, field trips, group activities, and cultural and social adjustments for you. They can assist you with any health, safety, housing issues, or any other concerns you may have. Their office is located centrally on campus.
