Studying abroad can be a more meaningful and invigorating learning experience than at home—both inside and outside of the classroom. You may be more curious and alert than you usually are so use this heightened energy to enhance your studies as well as your cultural and geographical explorations. You may also encounter different teaching styles and course processes; be prepared to adapt and to learn.
Through our agreement with London Metropolitan University, an array of courses will be made available to you. Areas of study and a sample selection of courses believed to be of most interest to USAC students are below. Courses are subject to change and approval of prerequisites by the host university.
Each student will take four courses per semester, worth 15 U.K. credits each. USAC equates 15 U.K. credits as the equivalent of three U.S. semester credits.
Yearlong students have additional options in Fine Arts and Design. Students will need to be majoring or minoring in these subjects and will be asked to provide their portfolio before approval.
Empowering London: Working with the Community: During the fall term students will examine the six core London challenges: crime, discrimination, environment, health improvement, poverty and deprivation, and social wealth. USAC students will join London Met students from a variety of disciplines, and they will be
taught by 9 different lecturers. This is truly an interdisciplinary module. During the spring term,
the students will engage in a community-based placement. Over the course of two semesters,
students will earn 15 U.K. credits (3 U.S. credits) total (not 3 credits for each term).
