On-Site Staff for Florianópolis, Brazil
Our Brazil staff welcomes you to Florianópolis!
The Florianópolis program has a Resident Director who is responsible for the USAC office abroad and overall operations of the program: securing appropriate student housing, hiring top-level faculty, organizing field trips and optional tours, and overseeing your general well-being. John Loveday, originally from the UK, has been a resident of South America for over four years and has traveled extensively throughout Brazil. John studied Languages and Literature at Oxford University and received his Master’s in Social Sciences from the University of London. As well as English, he speaks the four main romance languages. He will meet the group flight at the airport and provide the mandatory on-site orientation, teach one course, and provide additional resources and support while you are on the program.
You're always welcome to stop by the office for anything!
Program assistants Laura Baltazar and Renato Carvalho, meet the group flight at the airport, provides an on-site orientation, oversees your academic affairs, organizes interesting field studies, and accompanies you on the optional tours.
John, Laura and Renato, as well as all the USAC faculty, look forward to welcoming you to Floripa!
