On-Site Staff for Florianópolis, Brazil

Renato and Laura

The Florianópolis program has a Resident Director (RD) who is responsible for the USAC office abroad and overall operations of the program, including securing appropriate student housing, hiring top-level faculty, organizing field trips and optional tours, and overseeing your general well-being.

Renato Carvalho has worked for USAC Brazil since January 2013, first as the program assistant and now the RD. Before that he worked three years in management consulting and internal audits for Ernst and Young in Brazil. He holds a degree in business management from UFSC (where our program is based) and is completing his MBA. He has experience studying in the US (California and Texas), and also in Chile and Belgium. He speaks Portuguese and English fluently, as well as some Spanish and French.

Renato, with Program Assistant Laura Baltazar, will meet the group flight at the airport, provide an on-site orientation, oversee your academic affairs, organize interesting field studies, and accompany you on the optional tours.

Renato and Laura, as well as all the USAC faculty, look forward to welcoming you to Floripa!
